Self Portrait poemTo say he was motivated would be untrue.
To say he didn't care would be equally false.
Easily overwhelmed by big tasks,
He isn't one for "Doing Things," or "worrying."
He would rather make a joke than be down on life.
Why should life be so hard?
To live it simply is always an option.
For him, it is more than an option, it is a personal philosophy.
To live happily is the byproduct.
He doesn't need to hurry, he can take his time.
How many today can say the same?

Light RoomI took my seat,
but before I could say anything
I was blinded by light,
and noise.
I couldn't figure it out,
but something was different...
about this place,
this light,
this noise,
I had been here before, but not like this.
What came next was the sudden rush of fear
Fear, the secret alive in the dark.
Fear of something different,
fear of the light and the sound
I got up to leave
and while I could,
and while I did,
the fear and the difference stayed with me.
